What does the Haven ICS Mapping do?
The incident mapper gives command staff and responders a
shared live view of the incident. Users can place tactical information,
response zones, resources, notes, access routes, staging areas, and other
operational details on the map.
Can multiple users work on the same map?
Yes. Haven ICS Mapping is designed for collaborative mapping
so multiple users can contribute to the same incident picture.
Can users mark hot, warm, and cold zones?
Yes. Users can draw and label response zones such as hot,
warm, and cold zones.
Can users add decon corridors, staging areas, and access
routes?
Yes. Haven ICS Mapping is intended to support common
incident map elements such as decon corridors, staging, access routes,
isolation areas, hydrants, drains, command posts, and other response features.
Can users place people, vehicles, and assets on the map?
Yes. Users can place response assets, personnel, vehicles,
and other resources on the map.
Can map items be edited after placement?
Yes. The goal is for users to move, resize, relabel, rotate,
and adjust map items as an incident evolves.
Can users add notes to map items?
Yes. Map items can include additional information so users
can understand what the item is, who added it, and what role or function it
supports.
Can Haven ICS Mapping import outside map data?
Yes. Haven is being built to support imported map shapes and
files such as KML and GeoJSON.
Will imported map data keep its labels and colors?
That is part of the planned refinement. The goal is for
imported zones to retain useful information such as labels, types, and color
coding.
Can Haven ICS Mapping show weather or wind information?
Yes. Weather and wind display are part of the mapping
workflow, including planned improvements for forecast views and wind direction
clarity.
Can users upload photos into an incident?
Yes. Photo upload is part of the incident workflow.
Can users share files inside Haven ICS Mapping?
Yes. File and photo sharing are part of the roadmap, with
controls for permissions, access, expiration, and revocation.
